Cyfarthfa High School , together with our family of primary schools, has worked hard to produce a transition programme that is second to none.
Over the years much time has been spent in researching and implementing ground breaking work relating to teaching and learning strategies, curriculum development, assessment procedures and pastoral practices. Our cluster of schools has been recognised nationally for the excellence of the transition systems that are operational and the value of such activities to successive cohorts of students.
One of the most important recent additions to this work has been the development of the cluster intranet system which can be accessed by students, teachers and parents to enhance the transition process and the learning opportunities of all students entering Cyfarthfa High School. Ongoing work is taking place to populate the website with information relating to key school dates and calendar of activities. It will also contain key lesson plans, curriculum plans, levelled assessment materials and exemplars of outstanding student work across both key stages and in all subject areas. The website should be of enormous value to all users according to their needs and reasons for access.
The website will be further enhanced to provide opportunities for teachers to share exciting teaching materials and ideas for delivering lessons in the most vibrant and motivational way possible.
This is the dawning of a new phase in the work of this dynamic family of schools. We hope, and anticipate, that all users will benefit enormously from this “Building Bridges” site.
